About This Site
Welcome to Building a Lean Body with Sean Golden (CSCS).
Building a Lean Body is different from other fitness sites because it gives you research-backed information that’s up-to-date, reliable, and trust worthy.
I created this site because I am so sick of fitness and bodybuilding information I see when browsing through the internet, looking around in book stores, and listening to people talk in the gym. There is so much just plain wrong information going around these days! Since I have learned (and am still learning) how to develop the body that I wanted, I felt that I needed to share my information and journey with you so that it won’t be such a struggle for you to actually know what information is right and what is wrong regarding body transformation and composition changes.

A Little Bit About Me
I know that when I first started out on my journey into fitness sometime in high school, I thought that I knew all I needed to know about lifting weights and getting big. Of course I had to eat every 2-3 hours to keep my metabolism up! Of course I had to spread my protein out during the day because my body could only handle 30g at a time! And of course I needed to lift till failure on every single set because if I didn’t my entire workout would be wasted!
Long story short is that almost everything I knew was wrong. I don’t know exactly how every bodybuilding myth starts, but I do know that there seems to be more myth than truths when you look around online, or even in bookstores for that matter. I guess some of the myths get started because huge steroid-using bodybuilders will lift a certain way and normal, natural lifters will try to copy them. That’s like saying that research done on mice is immediately applicable to humans! (Oh, wait.. that happens too.)
My point is that nowadays it’s hard to decide what and who to believe. There is too much “word of mouth” and “bro-knowledge” flowing around everywhere that it seems like everyone is contradicting each other. Even when you turn to research to try to find the truth, you have to make sure that the protocols used didn’t have any other variables and that the conclusions that the researchers made are the only possible explanation for the results.
I made this page to help the average Joe (and Jane?) who wants to find out what the truth actually is and the simplest, fastest way to get the body they want and keep it. This site is not designed to sell you a quick-fix solution. If you want a magic bullet, you will need to try your luck elsewhere. I’ll say up front that if you want an outstanding body, you are going to have to work for it. What this site will give you, though, is the right information so that when you start your journey for a better body, you at least know that you are putting your energy into good, proper use and not wasting your physical energy on poorly designed workouts nor your mental energy on meticulous, inaccurate nutrition absolutes.
The main reason I started this site is because I feel that there is a gap between the recommendations the current published research suggests and the advice that actually gets spread around. The main reasons for this are sensationalism from the media and people who don’t know how to interpret scientific studies correctly (much of the time both).
This site does not stand alone
I am not the only one out there who wants to honestly help other people achieve their goals. There are a few other people out there who know their stuff and are very genuine. Here is a little list to help you get started with the truth:
Those are a few of the best people in this industry right now, and I would highly suggest that you look into them too.
What I am trying to offer that some others might not is a complete package. In order to build the body you want, you might need motivation as well as information. To get into this game you are going to need to have a burning desire to workout. If you try to digest all of this bodybuilding information at once, you will get lost in the information and might develop a case of paralysis by analysis; I know I have before.
This site’s main purpose is to help you
The more this site can do that, the better. That means that sometimes I will say things that you might not want to hear because it’s hard. This might not be the best way to get as many readers as possible, but it will help change the most lives. I will not give you any imaginary shortcuts, but I will tell you what you need to do and how to do it in order to meet your goals.
If you follow along this journey with me, it will improve your life. But you have to be willing to put in the effort.
What I will make easier for you, though, is knowing what to put your effort into.
P.S.: I want this site to be interactive. I don’t just want to type up articles and have readers read them, never to be thought about again. If you have any questions or comments, please leave a comment below the article. I want to hear from you because if you are have a question about one of the articles, chances are someone else does too! Furthermore, you can always email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
Hope you have fun joining me in Building a Lean Body!

I buy most of my supplements from Powder City. They do not sponsor me, I just find that they have the lowest price and very good purity.
If you happen to find the supplement you are looking for there, use this link and the coupon code it gives you for 10% off your order (and you will be supporting this site!):
I would never recommend a brand that I do not use myself or fully believe in.
